I totally forgot to post this. Michael Korda’s “Hero, The Life and Legend of Lawrence of Arabia,” should be mandatory reading for anyone with a backbone and anyone with the will to live. If you watch TV all day or surf the web, forget it, you don’t get to read this book. This one is reserved for people who venture forth.

What you are looking at are my notes from this book, and let me say this is only a small taste. This book is a goldmine of story and information. Lawrence was a legend. Perfect? No. Adventurous, brave and pioneering? Yep, all three and more. This time and these exploits are simply beyond comprehension. You can watch the movie but the books are better. Don’t just get it, read it. Buy the damn thing.

Can’t remember if I made it all the way through 7 Pillars of Wisdom. I think that’s the Lawrence book. He might have been a teetotaler (sp?), but Richard Harris and the other actors in the movie weren’t. Sounds like they went through a lot of booze on set.
Oh man, those folks were total hounds. The era was. And yes, Lawrence didn’t touch it, apparently. I love Seven Pillars. Reminds me….I haven’t done shit.
