Humor goes a long way, and if you are someone searching for a bit of the funny stuff then look no further than “Calypso,” from David Sedaris. My guess is that most of you are familiar with his work, and rightly so, he’s become a successful writer/speaker with a long list of credits. I’ve not found a Sedaris book I did not enjoy.
What I love about his work is the familiarity of the subject matter. His work is right there, in front of us, all of us, on a daily basis. Family, friends, travel, work. And the stories are peppered with serious material but always turned away from disaster by a finely placed word or line. And if his humor and talent aren’t enough, just know he was also intelligent enough to move to France.
