Dispatches: Donna Enad Napper

Donna Enad Napper is the Curator and Director of Education at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. Her story of reaching this status in the art world is an interesting one. She’s owned her own gallery, created unique shows and has now become a part of the major institution world, but at heart she’s simply someone who fell in love with art. Not only is Donna one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in the art world, but she is also one of the most positive. I knew when I visited her gallery in Los Angeles I would always see something unexpected, something challenging. After all, isn’t this the mission of art? As you will hear, this was not her first calling, and the art road is perhaps not the easiest path to follow, but luckily for the rest of us she chose the art route and is still going strong.
