I am enjoying these Blurb live events. They are recorded, and you can watch them later, but I do love myself a live event. Why? The pressure. A few months back, I tried to put a specific number on Blurb talks I’ve given over the past fifteen years. I lost count. And if you add the number of talks before I was a full-time employee, panels, interviews, and symposiums, the number continues to grow. It’s in the hundreds. Here is a link to this event.
Going live adds pressure, which is something I enjoy.
A few years ago, I was asked to do a ninety-minute, one-take, live talk in front of a studio audience. There was a moment of trepidation, but the fear made the entire thing more entertaining. This upcoming design event is far from stressful. I love providing feedback, whether it be about images, books, or designs. I just taught a four-week online class for Santa Fe Workshops, and the jump the students made between class two and class three was astounding. That’s why I love doing this. (I did just agree to an in-person Santa Fe class June 22-26, which will be about books and journals.) If this sounds interesting, submit, and I’ll see you there.
