Hello, you jackals. Very much looking forward to this little question-and-answer gem. There are some good questions in here and some good teaching moments as well. Much going on in the Milnor world. Upcoming workshops, book projects, Blurb duties, motorcycle adventures, photography adventures, and other miscellaneous madness. Thank you to all those who took the time to send in questions. The emails I get in response are worth the effort. Love helping people make discoveries or connections.

1. I had a similar bird close encounter the other day. I was riding my bike in the vicinity of the Columbia River and just as I was crossing the bridge over the adjacent Columbia Slough, a couple of song birds flew by my head and, right behind them, came a Bald Eagle up and over the rail and, when it discovered an unexpected obstacle in the form of my giant head, it put on the brakes and pulled up, its wings hitting my helmet in the process. The size and power of that bird experienced up that close is just amazing. I can still hear the sound of those wings beating as it buzzed over me.
2. I’ve found editing video on my iPad Pro to be pretty damn good and I love the touch interface. But I do not use Final Cut. There is another NLE app called LumaFusion that is very powerful and intuitive to use. Worth checking out.

Hey Rick,
I know about Luma as well. It looks good. However, what might be the best–after some research–is Davinci for iPad. Their file management and Black Magic Cloud look stellar. As for the eagle…you are fortunate!
My iPad Pro is ancient, but damn, still works great. Now, off to the kitchen to see if we have any plum tarts.

Mine still works too, and that is miracle. My less than one year old iPhone is so wrong in some many ways. Last night it went from 80% battery to 24% battery in one minute and then took all night to fully charge. It’s a POS compared to older models.
Re: Q6
I currently subscribe to this site via RSS.
Works on the Mac/iOS app called “Reader”.

Thank you!!
I would love to see a Milnor music playlist FYI. I don’t have an iPad, just a laptop. I’ve tried Davinci and seems to work pretty good. Filmora is supposed to be good, too.

My music list would bore you beyond belief. I’m a hundred years old musically.
I hope you consider selling or allowing a pre-order for your up coming Antarctica book (in whatever format or formats you choose). I may never get there myself, but I so enjoyed following your journey to such a magic place of our time, it would be great to purchase your book.

If I can get a book to my liking I would consider it. I think the books I’ll make about Japan and Germany will be more interesting. And less expensive.
