So, I have this podcast. For What It’s Worth. I’ve done approximately seventy, one-hour episodes. I am not suggesting you listen to this podcast. I am explaining that it is a thing. I love audio, recording audio, and ambient sound, so this was the original idea behind the podcast. Record sounds and talk about random things. I currently find myself in major planning mode. Four months of nonstop travel on the horizon and dozens of details to manage. What time does this leave for things like films and podcasts? No much. So, I’ve combined the two. My wonky YouTube channel and my podcast. I answer basic questions such as who is this podcast for? Who is my hero of the week, and who is my GOAT of the week? We talk about the demise of DP Review (not good), my new lens, the Honda 300L Rally, upcoming workshops and events, and much, much more. Oh, did I mention new puke stories? Yes, we cover those too. The world is too grand to limit ourselves to photography. Let’s table a bit more and see what happens.

FWIW FWIW is my absolute favourite podcast – it makes me realise that the UK isn’t the only country up the shifter. Good luck with all the travelling.
Indeed, Andrew, and if you’re thinking UK, think northern UK and kilts: the place has politicians running it modelled on Trump and punters modelled on Trump’s idiots. All in all, disintegration looms large. Somewhere, I think I read that those the gods seek to destroy they first make crazy. I guess there must be a galaxy of angry gods out there.

The joy will be finding each other in the rubble.

Thanks Andrew, glad you are enjoying!
Hell yes !
🙂
Asumming you’re still a Blurb fixture, I’d like to know your thoughts on platforms like Canva – very impressive in my experience – and MidJourney – mind blowing in my experience. The future ain’t what it used to be, and it’s changing all the time.

LOVE Canva. They are doing really well. Huge rounds of funding and I’m sure they will be bringing even more to the table in the future.
I prefer audio podcasts, they’re easier to digest to and don’t force listeners to stand in front of a screen (which we otherwise do 90% of the time, that’s the sad truth). I do have a workaround which I’ll mention here just for those that have similar preferences to mine: “youtube-dl -x” (https://youtube-dl.org/) lets me download audio-only and then syncthing (synchthing it’s like dropbox but limited to your own devices only) the audio file to my phone. Actually I don’t use youtube-dl but its fork “yt-dlp” –> check it out: https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp
Anyway, what I really wanted to comment on is that I have recently bought a second hand Honda CRF300L! The plan was to get the Rally which I loved but then an opportunity came through to get this L version with all the proper bits (front and rear shock changed, adventure spec mini fairing, larger footpegs, etc) for an excellent price. I now have TWO motorbikes which have a comically low total bhp output (the other bike is a Guzzi V7, 60bhp after tuning).. this is a thing in Italy, esp. in Southern Italy, where the engine horsepower is a proxy for the manliness of the owner, for how experienced you are, or some other stupid way to enlarge the ego of the rider. But I’m happy with my two “beginners” motorbikes!

My Honda brother! Well done. I would by the L but the extended range of the Rally is a must for me here. I’m in a good spot because I’m patient and have a lot of travel forthcoming so I can wait…
where can I find out signing up for you future tours

Hey Rick, I typically talk about them here on the site as well as my YouTube channel. My Discord server as well.
