Rattle snakes galore in White Oaks due to the rains… pretty friendly though. Ceasefire between cats and fox still holding. Sweatshirt and pants in the morning @6,400 ft. Yes, NM is unique; but it’s part of the U.S. which, as you intimated, is getting REALLY TIRED.

I love me a rattlesnake. Water moccasin, not so much. Had to paddle away from one a few days ago. Didn’t get a close look but the way he/she was coming at me I’m pretty sure it was a moccasin.
Great FWIW. I’m grateful the heat is getting the attention that it has. Summers are getting pretty dangerous for people and pets in the PNW. Not many places have A/C. I don’t. The past few summers have been brutal. It’s led to some great, updated reporting on strategies for keeping apartments cooler. I was doing so many things wrong.
I don’t really care about the doping in cycling. I think they all do it. Can’t agree with the take on Lance, though. He was a major douchebag, using his power to crush anyone who tried to reveal the truth about the sport and what he was up to.

He was a total douche. Totally agree. But Lance literally put millions of butts on bikes. So overall, for me, that outweighed the fact he cheated and was such a bad dude. I know it’s an unwinnable argument.
