  2. Hi Dan!
just when I thought I might skip treadmill today…
    Thanks for the new episode!

1.) I hope you’re okay and you just good a regular cold. Because that’s what used to happen when we were spending too much time at airports and in public transportation. Whatever it is, I hope you get well soon.
2.) Fingers crossed for AG23 ! I got a copy of #2 and I love the idea. Would be great to see it going on! Still hoping for an AG23 velcro patch one day…
3.) Lebanon? Count me in !
4.) Putin? Julia Loffe – she laid it all out a year or two ago. You pointed me to her interview(s) at PBS.

I really wanted to know about the political establishment in the US… 😉

    Take care, cheers,
    Robin

  4. Love the idea of dumbing down the smart phone but if I could have one request it would be to keep my music on the phone.

  5. I used to travel with a brick MacBook Pro (remember optical drives?), Canon 5D Mk whatever, 3 or 4 L glass and a carbon Gitzo tripod, I didn’t give a second thought to the weight at the time and the frames still hold up; now I just travel with an iPad Pro, Q2 and a small flexi tripod, my back appreciates it and it’s so much more fun. Now if Leica would only make a Q with a 50 ‘lux!!

I can’t believe they don’t make a 35mm version as it seems every single person I talk to says “The 28mm is too wide for me.” And yes, I traveled with two Canon 1v’s. Two zooms. Bag of film, batteries, etc. And Leica system.

  7. #63! Well I thought I listened to all of these but it can’t be, I like to believe I have a life but hey probably not. I’d comment back on everything, I mostly agree with everything. So let’s pick one topic at random… influencer’s mental health, the trauma these young kids go through is ridiculus, to live for an online persona must be crushing. I change my mind and the things I like every 2 to 4 days, I can’t imagine having to be the same person for years just to keep getting likes. Insane. I’d go crazy… well I guess that’s also what they finally end up doing. And get the Leica, worst case you don’t like it I’ll volunteer to take it from you. You have my support! Cheers.

The algo always wins. Always. That’s what its built for. But remember, it takes something special to live a lie to that level for that long. I could never do that regardless of the payoff. So when they do, and then they crash and burn, I’m not feeling all that bad. There are plenty of people who deserve sympathy. Influencers don’t fall into that category.

  8. Ahh the voice of America is back (well half a voice anyway) and I for one think the world is a better place for it!

  9. Glad to see the podcast has returned. As for birding, my wife was converted when we moved to Montana in 2004. We now live in Maine (moved there in 2019), and we had the chance to see the Stellar Sea Eagle when it was up in Boothbay Harbor during winter. That’s when I converted. Now we visit the local parks and beyond enjoying the different migration seasons: she with the binoculars and me with a Panasonic G9 and 100-400 lens which I knew we “needed” after viewing the Stellar Eagle.
