Creative: Everyday Expedition, The Confluence

Permalink 4 Comments

We do what we can with what we have. Time, resources, drive, and skill. Exotic isn’t always over there. The exotic is often right here, surrounding us. On this Everyday Expedition the goal was simple; explore a new place. Don’t judge, and don’t preconceive. There is too much ground to cover to make any bold statement or discovery. Those may come with time, research, luck, and repeated motion but there is no guarantee. Many attempts at the summit end in failure. Since making this film I have picked up two books about this location and the Rio Grande in particular. There is SO much to learn, but maybe there is a spark waiting to be flame.

  1. First off, that was just mesmerizing. I have to get back to New Mexico. I was only there for two days when we drove cross country. After reading the Oppenheimer book and now Trinity Fields it seems to be an enchanting place.

I was also saying to myself, this being Mr. Milnor there must be some humor injected somewhere and along comes the bit about your hat! Great stuff!

  2. Beautiful places. Maybe not exactly with the topic but … I would like my children to be able to grow up in such a place, closer to nature. So that they can freely explore the hills, climb trees and whenever they want to make a camp and sleep in a tent. When we were kids, none of us thought “it would be fun to go to town”. We were always drawn to places where there were no people, to groves, to the river. Fortunately, I am still like that, I am still drawn to the forest, to the mountains, where peace and quiet and where I cannot hear the noise of cities.
