I love me some PCNW. I’ve been doing events there for years, both teaching and attending, so you might not be surprised that I like their annual Chase the Light event. There are many things to like about this. One, I love the tight deadline. I also love the fact the images are edited, printed and displayed right then and there. No wasted anything. This is also a great opportunity to meet other photographers because you can see who is doing what. I’m always amazed at how little networking photographers do, so an event like this can change your life. Here is an explanation.
Chase the Light is Photographic Center Northwest’s (PCNW) annual summer fundraising and friend-raising event celebrating photography and community. The event kicks off with a 48-hour photo weekend on June 13-14th, where people around the globe make photographs on the same weekend. Every participant who submits will have their work reviewed by industry professionals and is guaranteed to have one photograph selected for a pop-up exhibition and print sale on Saturday, June 20th. Register today, and invite your friends and family. Chase The Light is a summer highlight for the photographic community, and we want you in on the fun!
Chase The Light is a great event for all ages and skill levels. Participants are encouraged to plan their photographic adventures with friends and family—anyone, anywhere in the world, with any camera (or cell phone!) can participate.
Chase The Light has engaged more than 9,000 photographers from 5 continents, 28 countries, 47 states, resulting in over 5,500 prints exhibited by PCNW.

Doesn’t look like you’ll be there this year. Would have been nice to go on another photo walk with you!
