Yep, I almost always use my viewfinder, as I prefer composing through it. The exception is some street photography, where I hold my x100VI down by my waist with the screen flipped out and up, so I can capture shots without drawing attention.

Totally agree. That flip screen, at times, is essential.
What?!! How on earth are those vlogger/street photographer YouTubers going to film their camera screens if their heads are in the way?!
I was, initially, put off the whole “mirrorless camera” world circa 2012 when a friend bought a “mirrorless camera” which had no viewfinder (neither an OVF nor an EVF). It seemed like such a detached / unstable way to compose photos at the best of times, let alone in bright sunlight.
Okay, so things moved on with “mirrorless cameras”, but I wish camera manufacturers would go back to naming cameras according to what they have, rather than what they don’t have. “Do you still use a DSLR?” “No, I shoot mirrorless”. “A Hasselblad X2D 100C?” “No, an iPhone 3”. “What kind of car do you drive?” “Automatic”. The word “mirrorless” could not get much vaguer. Sorry, I went off on a tangent. Maybe I’m ready for another coffee….

I did a post called “Friends Don’t Let Friends Buy Digital Point and Shoot Cameras” for this very reason. They were buying cameras with no viewfinders, about every six months, then trying to tell me how great they were.
I’ll have to search for that post! The strange thing is that the 2012 “mirrorless” in question had detachable lenses. Not even sure if it counts as a point-and-shoot? No viewfinder. Probably a glorified point-and-shoot. Every time I heard the word “mirrorless” for the next 7–8 years, it was like nails on a chalkboard. Actually, it still is, for the reasons stated above. 🙂
