Okay, my friends. Fire away. Blurb is hosting a “Live Question and Answer” on Wednesday the 21st. Photography, photobooks, how to hook kick, how to identify owls or what is the best song for a father/daughter dance. I’m willing to answer anything, but maybe we should keep to the photography and book side of things, just to be safe. I love these events, and I love answering questions. As you know, I’ve been doing this for quite some time on my site, but I believe this MIGHT be the first time I’ve ever done this for Blurb. I did a talk on Friday of this past week, a talk that was supposed to primarily highlight my photography. This is a rare event these days. Most often, I’m approached about photobooks and how to see the print world in new ways. Sure enough, minutes in and the audience was “Tell us about Blurb.” For those of you with questions….fire away. Follow the link.

  1. I’m leaving for a week long trip to Guatemala on a mission’s trip. I intend to work with one camera and one lens with the goal of having enough material for a Blurb book of some sort. We plan to spend considerable time in Santa Maria de Jesus. If you were going, how many SD cards would you bring and what would your data management system look like?

  2. I’ve been working with a model for about five years. There was no original intention to make a book as I first worked with her at a workshop. Mix of colour and BW. Different film formats and some digital. It hit me that there’s five years of images here that might be worth collecting in one place. Aside from strict chronology, how would you approach arranging or sequencing these images in book form?
