Hello, friends. It’s that time again. Time for a Blurb live something with little old me. I’ll be critiquing a few pictures during a Live Image Breakdown on July 24th, and the best part is that you can submit your own work. Think you have something solid? Something not-so-solid? I’m here to help. I’ve give you my two cents, so get off your butts and submit your work. What do you have to lose? And before we go any further, I’m not one of those photographers who thinks that slaying someone is a good thing. I suffered under that during my rise to semi-delirious photography fame, and I can tell you, it didn’t help me. It made me want to exact revenge, but luckily I moved away, grew up, got a job, and never saw any of those people again. My point, I’ll be constructive, not destructive. Just don’t tell me you can’t get your work together in time. That is just lame. Onward.
Details are below.
Join professional photographer Dan Milnor as he conducts live critiques of audience-submitted photos. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with a seasoned expert, ask your burning questions, and refine your craft. Submit your photos for the live today, or tune in on July 24 at 11 a.m. PT | 2 p.m. ET.
During this interactive session, Dan will break down the critical elements of a compelling photograph, from composition and lighting to subject matter and storytelling. He’ll provide feedback on the strengths and areas for improvement in each submitted image, offering practical tips and techniques to elevate your skills.
Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting, you’ll gain invaluable insights from an expert in the field—and walk away with a deeper understanding of what it takes to capture genuinely impactful and memorable images.

This looks like a great opportunity. Can I submit images even if I can’t watch this live? (I’m assuming in will be recorded).

Nice Cam!
I’ve been photographing landscapes as a hobby for over ten years, they’re nothing special, landscapes are easy to take, just show up at the most beautiful times, like sunrise and sunset.
They add nothing to society or to those who see them. I even decided to offer them for free on a website called pexels to anyone who wants to use them, to my surprise I received an email some time ago that people are using them and there are already on more than 3000 websites.
I was surprised, I shared it with my wife and she says it’s nothing special, that there are thousands of photographs being used every day. Therefore, my photographs are easy to create and people around me don’t care. your event is best to documentary based photography.

I love the wife comment. I know how you feel…
Submitted my “Milnor 5”. Was a fun impromptu edit of my favorite 20 down to 5. Cheers!

Thank you for offering this! I didn’t know about Critical Mass until I read your article after the deadline. I have a few questions for you about submitting for this image breakdown:
1. I do not have a model release for several shots I am thinking about sharing with you for critique. They’re images I haven’t published anywhere. Will you be promoting Blurb products or services during the stream? I think that could affect what I can/should submit.
2. Where would the images we submit appear other than this livestream stream (if at all)? Would you ask for permission for additional use and do we maintain our copyright?
3. Where will the recording of the livestream be shared?
Author
We don’t own anyone’s copyright, nor do we want to own anyone’s copyright. I have no idea why we would use these to promote Blurb? We aren’t looking at books. But if you are uneasy I would pass.
Okay, thank you. I submitted a frame from a different project instead because of permissions concerns with the first set. It can be really tough to get sweeping permission for use of images sometimes.
I don’t normally do this but what the heck.

Why not? I’m not cruel.
