If any of you follow Blurb on social you will see today’s announcement in regard to something called Readymag. This is a very cool platform, and one I’ve been using for a while now, mostly to learn how the platform works. You can use Readymag to build a website, digital magazine, portfolio or presentation. What I intend to use it for is project specific needs, especially when I’ve got something to sell. This is my first use of the platform. As you know, I don’t really do much to sell my magazine. I created the damn thing as a way of showing other photographers how easy, strategic, affordable and fun it is to have your own magazine, but it is nice to have a site-specific location for each issue, each story and each project.
My ongoing project will also have a specific site, magazine and presentation, just in case I find a need along the way. Readymag has a free option, so no reason NOT to check it out. Also, if you want to try out the pay version there is currently a discount running. Take a look at the link above and scroll down to see some of the samples several of which were made by members of the Blurb team. These peeps know how to illustrate and design. I think their sites are beautiful.
