Excited about this one but mainly due to the triggering of memories of the day. One of the most successful days in the field I ever had. Working with two systems, good light, good weather, and luck. This image was part of a ten-year project titled “Man vs Nature,” a nice, broad topic that allowed me to roll a lot of seemingly unrelated topics together. Working reportage with a Hasselblad is limiting, slow but rewarding in its own way. The medium format camera can be a real crutch, making us believe our images are better than they are just based on the esthetic beauty of the negatives these machines produce. There are several things working in this frame. Let me explain.

Love those images you got out there. The ninja lead in is excellent. Even if I hated your videos, I’d probably keep tuning in just to see different openings.

scott,
That is ALL Kurt Gledhill. He makes them and I love that one too.
Really like this image – seeing it I feel like the driver sitting back, breathing, feeling the heat and getting ready to hurtle towards the horizon.

Funny part, bike died on the starting line……
Great image, great critique… again!
I forward your critiques to my amateur photography friends in the hope that some of that honesty and desire for learning over knowing rubs off.
