Back again. This time we hit those pioneers in tinfoil hats, Rick Santorum, and the fact we actually had rain here in New Mexico. Following this, we touch on topics like the untouched wilderness, or the idea of it anyway, failed beginnings, the Yamaha TW200 vs the Sony a7C. We also talk my favorite birds, India during C19 and yet another of my fav YouTubers biting the dust.

  1. Rain?
Mother nature heard your complaints and thought “ok ok maybe this will shut him up.” 😉

  2. Damn it Milnor, now the TW200 is on my list. With so many backcountry gravel roads here in Western NC that need to be explored that are far too long of a distance & too much climbing for my partner (and me for that matter) to tackle by bicycle, the TW200 looks perfect. The desert tank mod & rain gear are also checkmarks since we are trending back to a semi-temperate rainforest around here. Not trying to go full Ewan & Charlie so this little Yamaha looks perfect. Tanks Mang! 🙌🙌

  3. Good luck with the Yamaha! Bummed to hear the X-T4 didn’t tick all those boxes. Sure sounded like a nice stills + video combination. What is it about the X-T4 that’s not quite doing it for you? The fall off? The IBIS? I remember you mentioning a while back that you’d given up on hand-held video with it.

    1. Also, it’ll be interesting to hear where you end up. New Mexico as a base, relocate to Wyoming, maybe Canada? Buy a small stake in a Tim Tam operation in Australia, maybe. I’ve moved around so much, I’m always thinking about the idea of where home is, and how people know it when they get there? Do places matter, or it one’s commitment to being at home. Sunday musings…

      Scott,
The IBIS is okay not great. I thought I would be able to more handheld but without gimbal it’s not great. The Sony is a fraction the size and has great IBIS and is far easier to hold. Not great for stills. The Fuji great with still work.

  4. It has become apparent to me that to be able to be notified of new posts I must comment under one. Cheers.

P.S. Your films are fascinating watch.
