Nothing to see here. Move along. Just a few non-work moments over the past week. Attempting to be outside as much as possible. Hiking, running, cycling, birding, and attending this or that. It was also a productive photography and photobook week. Stay tuned for more films about these pursuits. Lots going on in my work life, all good actually, which keeps me honest and keeps from spending too much time on self-interest projects. Had several wonderful photographer meetings this week. Folks who have done book projects or are working on interesting long-term work. More on this later.

Now if that old guy brassed his camera at 11,000 feet that would be cool. Not really he still be a dork.
Oh something off topic there, heard a guy once say to his buddy on the other side of the house
“hey Charlie I am around back to the other side” He was a Newfie.

I remember when the Leica MP came out and within six weeks there were guys with completely brassed cameras.
Fantastic video style. I like a boisterous truck stop meal better than a chain franchise.
Bike talk: fellow single-speed rider here. My loyal steed is 2007 Gary Fisher Rig, 29er hardtail mountain bike. She’s got some dings and patina on her, but she’s quiet, nimble, and rolls straight as an arrow.
Cheers!

I am not lusting fat bike…
I hope the neck is doing better…

It is, thank you. No quick fix however. A long road ahead.
I’ve had a fat tire bike for a while now (in my case, an electric one). Trust me, you definitely are lusting for one.

OH, I am. For sure. Narrowed to two at the moment.
The first thing I do when I buy a lens is take the lens cap and put it at the back of the cabinet. In the past, when the lenses were at home they had the cap on, but a few years ago I stopped putting it on and I’ve never had a lens with fungus again (I live next to the sea).
Seeing the size of your backpack reminded me of a huge mistake I made, which was buying a large backpack so I could carry 2 cameras, one with a normal lens and the other to photograph the birds in case a rare one appeared (to prove that I saw it, because it has happened several times that my birdwatching friends don’t believe that I saw an Oenanthe leucura). And also carry binoculars and a bird guide book (I don’t like searching on my smartphone). I used this suitcase with everything I needed for half a dozen times and it was distressing, I’m only 28 years old and this happened several years ago, but the weight was enormous, I couldn’t enjoy my trips, conclusion, nowadays I leave the house with just my binoculars and a camera with a 24-70.

I can carry both cameras in this, and I do when I’m around water. Normally one is in hand, the other in the bag.
Awesome video. Fireflies and corn on the cob. Love that. What a cool adventure.

Life is fun, mostly.
We had fireflies and corn on the cob just the other night. Along with the NJ state bird: the mosquito.

What exit?
This one really makes me want to get out on a bike again.
Also, I’m curious which state really has the most Mosquitos? I remember shirking my chores as a youth in ND waiting until my Dad got home and yelled at me, then finally tromping out to mow the lawn during the last period of daylight suitable for the task and having the things practically carry myself and the lawnmower away. Mid-coast Maine had quite a few Mosquitos as well.

Maine is so good at mosquitos. Florida is good too.
All my film cameras are finally gone. I had to sell my M4 a while ago, the f100 died last month, and just this week my Nikon Fe that I had for almost 20 years and used pretty much everyday finally died too! (That was super brassed up) Such a sad day!
Probably for the best to be honest, because Im running out of negative storage space! Lol! I guess I can spend more time making darkroom prints instead!
