This series is about you and me. People with jobs who aren’t pros who will probably never stand atop Everest or float the Nile. Everyday people doing everyday things in the outdoors. Trout on the fly. Yes, that was the end game but there is so much more to these outings. And when you fish you are allowed to become more intimate with the ecosystem. This lifestyle was presented to me by my mother when I was very young and the residue of her influence is pervasive in my life. Bugs, water, wind, and rain. Paved to dirt to mud to rock and finally on to the thin slits where the van barely fits.

I’ve taken a class. I bought a rod. I’ve read the books. I’ve watched YouTube videos. That was over two years ago and I have yet to make it to a river to get my fly yet. That changes this summer. As always Dan, thanks for the inspo.

Tracy,
Yes, just go and take a swing. Once you land something it’s all over.
Such a great video and nice insight into the kind of road trips you make.
I wish your Mom all the best and a speedy recovery!
