My first Crichton book but I picked a good starting point. Enjoyed this book and believe the postscript alone is worth picking up the book. I read the postscript twice and found myself laughing out loud at the last sentence which I did not see coming.
Not only is this well written, and filled with humor, but Travels also hits a wide range of topics including the author’s departure from medicine to become a full-time writer. The young Crichton was paying for medical school by writing spy novels, one he completed in nine-days, and the speed and skill deployed was commendable. There is also an interesting and thoughtful take on things like spirituality and mythology, etc. Get it, read it.
