I’m on a Zine tear. The proud father of this baby is Nicholas Firan who is a Brooklyn based photographer and designer. This thing looks DAMN good. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and have looked it many times. It’s as exciting as it was the night he showed it to me a bar in New York. I was drinking water people, calm down. All business. I’ve said this many times in the past, but these small, personal Zines are some of my most prized possessions. To sit and talk with Nicholas, learning about the how and why, it’s impossible to ignore the passion required to do this type of thing. Did I mention it’s handmade. Ya. Make sure you expand the three thumbnails below as they are well worth the time and show a gatefold type page that is simple fantastic. Do you need massive numbers when it comes to books? No. Do you need massive size? No. Do you need expensive? No. Do you need high level materials? No. Do you need a good story? Yes. Do you need images with style and soul? Yes. Do you need good design? Preferably. Do you need drive? Undoubtedly. Here’s proof.
