Creative: What Did We Learn?

Hey Jackals, hope you are doing well. I’m back from another tectonic plate and have had ample time to figure out what I learned and what still escapes me. What a perfect time to share my findings. I’m one person with one opinion, so take my words for what they are. One man’s opinion. Nothing more.

To the people of Morocco, thank you.

The oldest, largest medina in the world. The first university. The first Islamic school. Morocco has given so much. Want to thank the people of Morocco for going above and beyond to make our trip so fantastic. I can’t tell you how many times we were greeted with, “Welcome, whatever you need.” Certain parts of the country are overrun with mass tourism, something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Fall colors in Santa Fe are as close as we come to this phenomenon, and it’s ugly, so the patience the Moroccans display is commendable.

We will also have a quick look at the six test books I’ve completed since returning home. None is perfect, but they are leading me to a final print destination, and heck, they were fun to build. I should have shot motion footage of the books, but that takes forever, and I still don’t have a good setup for capturing book footage. But I’m using my dining room table for the shoots, and there just isn’t space or a way for me to get high enough. So, you get stills. Hope everyone is well and doing their thing. Go shoot.

  2. I immediately went and made myself a books straight after watching this. Not Blurb though, because shipping is too expensive for a one off.
