Paris. November 2015. Terror attacks. I was there. I was a lucky one. I was never in danger, but I did have a strange coincidental walk through the city a few hours before the attacks. Shooting the day after was strange. Complicated yet accessible. Quiet, nervous but defiant. I hadn’t made any images like this in a long time, so it was a memory experience. I was reluctant at first, but glad I eventually made my way. It was a rough time, but Parisians are strong and you could tell there would be no caving to the madness.

Wow that sent a shiver down my spine – real sliding doors moments.

Mick,
Strange days.
Strange days indeed, Daniel. It was good to see Parisians uniting against such acts.

Agreed.
Really interesting story and picture! thanks.
Hi Daniel,
came here because I found you through A. Molitor’s website.
You can have a look at my photos of the weekend the terrorist attacks happened:

I never went to the places of the shootings.
I still have an invitation for Paris Photo, but I think I have to wait at least another year or two before I can go to Paris again.

Hey Mark,
I’ve been thinking about Paris a lot lately. Not the attacks, just about how much I love the city. I can’t go at the moment, but will be back soon. I can feel it. I hope you get back too.
