Creative: Blurb London PhotoWalk

I can now feel my fingers. It was cold and windy. We had a good crowd. There were familiar faces, and bright, shining new ones. There were vintage cameras and brand-new digital supercomputers. We were once a sizable group of one but split into two and three only to merge for the final act of goodbyes, dinner plans, and the need for warmer, gentler spaces. London is a wonderful city for photo walks—one of the best. And working here is easy compared to other places. There were three of us from Blurb, collecting names, handing out maps, and wrangling the herd.

I don’t shoot much on these jaunts. I mostly move from person to person talking about books and photography.

There was no meetup at the end of this event, so I looked at books as I walked through the streets and parks. The photography community is diverse and committed. And the canvas of London never fails to produce. Even I could be a street photographer here. Yes, it’s that good. Oh, I shot 5:4 for the first time. I like it. Just a new way of seeing through the tiny box. A bit of fill from time to time. Mostly covering Blurb bases. Images that might work for our social team. Video too. Short clips during the in-between moments or when we are stationary for ten or fifteen minutes.

  1. …It was good to see you in Berlin, I’ve got two more days in this “pretty” dirty city of Paris. yet as I will miss Berlin I no longer miss Paris. I will be back none the less because there is always new light to find and shadow to argue with.

Yes, great seeing you. I’m still over here. But have two days in Brighton to sit and think and watch the sky. And I just had hotel coffee that wasn’t horrible. Things are looking up.
