I mentioned this a few months ago, but we are now dangerously close to liftoff. Let me just say this. This is NOT easy. Launching a Zine is a terribly complicated endeavor that is far more costly and time-consuming than you can imagine, and we still have a ways to go.
This is a total experiment. This is a critical point. Neither Rick from Beyond, nor I, have ever done this before, so there will be a learning curve, but there is a foundation emerging. Printing specs, printing cost, microsite, logo design, web design, Zine design, URL’s, legal, submission portal, content search, creative briefs, print marketing, merchandise, all requiring….money. Beyond has been incredible, stepping up and handling what needs to be done. I’ve created a short oral history of how this came about.
If you have a story you want to tell then get ready to submit. “Promote understanding through art and dialogue,” is the mission idea. This isn’t a portfolio piece. This is about knowledge. Interesting, important or beautiful.

Dan, would you provide a link to the submission portal (if it is active)…I can’t seem to find one by doing an online search.

Hey Sara,
It’s not quite ready yet but will post again when it’s live.
Awesome, glad to see this going forward! Excited to see the first zine, the tagline is really inspiring.

Hey Paul,
Should be interesting. I’m hoping people get what they want from it.
Dan,
Amazing…and so much work!
I also may have some material for contribution in the future.
…can’t wait to see how it turns out. Best of luck with this endeavor.
