Back from Antarctica. Without question, it is one of the most unique environments I’ve ever experienced and not a place that can be dealt with casually. I stopped posting updates from the field for several reasons.(Except YouTube Shorts) First, my uplink wasn’t fast enough to upload full films. Second, I didn’t want to rush this place or this story. Third, not entirely sure what I want to say about my trip and the place itself. Antarctica left me with a haunting feeling, mostly in a positive way but there was also a realization of fragility that once encountered firsthand is undeniable. We saw things we expected to see, and we saw things we never expected to see. I will do a longer film about what worked and what didn’t and not just photographically. There is much to share. My mind now focuses on making sense of the experience via the pages of a book. No easy task but it is the only way to apply the critical thought required to encapsulate this world of ours. Thanks to Federico, Johan, Andrew, and the entire crew for getting us there and back while making the experience so remarkable.
