Photography

I began making pictures in the late 1980s after discovering the work of English photographer Larry Burrows who was tragically killed while covering the Vietnam War. Burrows photographs made me feel in a way I had never felt before. I knew I wanted to make others feel the same, so began my pursuit of photography. Many of the single images you see here are representative of larger bodies of work. I’ve always worked in story form returning to the same people or locations again and again until something cohesive emerged.
