I stayed with a friend on this last trip. Up at 5AM everyday to get on the bike. Back by 8:30 which is 7:30 CA time, so an hour to eat, shower and get ready for the Blurb battle. Late in the day I would then head out to complete the mini “double.” Bike and hike. Typically an hour to two hours ranging from easy to straight up, straight down.
I’m always amused when I hear people say “It’s a small world.” It is until you add “Unless you are on foot,” to the end of that statement. Amazing what you will see when you are traveling at the speed you can muster. River, stone, Earth and wood. Back in CA now, and all I can think about is returning to the mountains.
